FREDERICO CORDOVA

Case #95-33524

On April 3, 1995, at approximately 12:23 am, Frederico Cordova and his wife were walking out of the market near the intersection of NE 9th and Alberta  when an unidentified African-American man approached the couple from a vehicle. The unidentified man and Mr. Cordova, a 40-year-old Hispanic male, began verbally arguing when Cordova’s wife ran to get help. His wife heard several gunshots and turned to see her husband lying on the ground deceased. An autopsy revealed that Frederico Cordova had died of a gunshot wound.

Mr. Cordova was an 11-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was reported to be an alcoholic.

The unidentified African-American male has been described as being 18 to 20 years of age with black hair in a short afro style hairdo. The vehicle that he was seen exiting was described as being tan or yellow in color.
