JAMES HENRY

On August 2, 1987, at approximately 1:15 am, a transient near the intersection of NW Glisan and 23rd Avenue found James Edward Henry, a 56 year-old white man, barely breathing in a bus shelter. Mr. Henry was transported to a local hospital with head injuries. On September 2, Mr. Henry died from his wounds.
Mr. Henry was described as being “semi-transient” who frequented Old Town. For 10 years prior to his death, Mr. Henry lived in a garage in NW Portland and was a handyman at that residence. Witnesses reported observing James Henry lying on the bench in the bus shelter as early as 8:00 pm on the evening of August 1.
