MICHAEL CLUNE
Case #78-35928
On May 18, 1978, at approximately 9:30 pm, witnesses reported seeing Michael Clune, a 35-year-old white man, following and being verbally abusive toward an unidentified white man near the intersection of SW 10th and Alder Street. The unidentified man then turned around, shot Mr. Clune, and fled westbound on Alder Street and northbound on SW 11th Avenue. Police officers responded to find Mr. Clune deceased on the scene.
Michael Clune was transient who was on parole for robbery in Texas. He was reported to be an alcoholic and was aggressive when he was drunk. Associates described Mr. Clune as being very quiet and nice when he was not drinking.
Witnesses reported hearing Michael demanding the unidentified man give him his bottle back. The unidentified white man has been described as being approximately 60 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, 165 to 175 pounds with gray, shoulder-length hair.
