Mr. Black soon died at the scene as a result of the wounds he sustained during the shooting.

Edward Black was well known in the area and was reported to have been living out of his van in the neighborhood during the weeks prior to the shooting. Mr. Black was reported to have abused alcohol and to have been belligerent when drinking in excess.
