HENRY JAY JOHNSON

On March 2, 2000, at about 8:30 p.m., Officers responded to the area of NE Rodney Avenue and NE Failing Street, to the report of shots fired. Upon arriving they found the victim, Henry Jay Johnson, a 21-year-old African-American male, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to witness reports they saw an African-American male, who was in his twenties, leaving the scene of the shooting headed westbound toward Unthank Park. The suspect was described as being 5’8”, with a medium build, wearing a blue or black puffy coat with the hood up, dark pants with tennis shoes that had red shoe laces. The Cold Case Unit would like anyone with information regarding this case to contact them.
