DOMINGO LEE GONZALES

Case# 02-109431

On November 17, 2002, at 4:31 a.m., Officers responded to the area of 7144 NE 22nd Avenue, to the reports of a shooting. Before Officers arrived at the listed location, they spotted a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed away from the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle until it stopped at Emanuel Hospital, that’s when the driver of the vehicle got out and started screaming that an individual had been shot. Officers assisted in getting the victim, Domingo Lee Gonzales, a 25-year-old Hispanic male, out of the vehicle and into the hospital emergency room. Mr. Gonzales was pronounced dead at the hospital from apparent gunshot wounds.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots coming from outside the back of the residence on NE 22nd Avenue. Witnesses then reported hearing another round of shots being fired and car tires screeching. An African-American male was seen leaving the area and getting into a dark-colored 1980’s Buick Regal. He is believed to be a witness to what happened outside the residence. Witnesses also reported seeing and African-American male wearing a light plaid button-up shirt getting out the passenger side of a Buick Skylark, light in color, moments before the shooting. That car was also seen leaving the area right after the shooting. The Cold Case Unit would like anyone with information regarding this case to contact them.
