The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the January 2022 homicide of Jaquan Jenkins.
On Friday, January 28, 2022, at 2:16 a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a report of someone shot at Northwest 2nd Avenue and Northwest Couch Street. When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the victim, 26-year-old Jaquan J. Jenkins, and determined that he died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
Jenkins’ family told investigators that he was mentally disabled and they are asking anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
Homicide detectives believe there were a number of people who witnessed the incident who did not remain on scene to speak with police and they would like to hear from anyone with information about Jenkins’ death.
Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 cash for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime and tipsters can remain anonymous.
