Man Injured in Hatchet Attack, Suspect Arrested (Photo)

A man is recovering from serious head injuries after he was attacked with a hatchet in Old Town.

On Saturday April 24, 2021 at 12:18p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a priority disturbance in an apartment building in the 0 block of Northwest Broadway. Officers arrived and located a victim with a serious head wound. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

Officers began an investigation and arrested a suspect in the building. A hatchet was recovered and seized as evidence (photo).

Assault detectives responded and booked James R. Lott, 46, of Portland, into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a charge of Assault in the Second Degree.
