UPDATE: Victim in Downtown Homicide Identified (Photo)

The victim in this homicide is identified as 22-year-old Gabrielle Lynn Dozhier. The Medical Examiner's Office has determined her manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot wound. Dozhier's family has been notified of her death, and they provided the attached photograph for public release. Family members are asking for privacy at this time.

Kirk Clarence Mickels, 36, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Murder in the Second Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Fourth Degree, Kidnapping in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The victim's name will be released after the Oregon State Medical Examiner has confirmed identity and the victim's family has been notified.

On Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 10:15 a.m., officers from the Central Precinct were dispatched to a report of a shooting near Southwest Clay Street and Southwest 12th Avenue. When officers arrived they located an adult female who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers attempted life saving measures at the scene but the victim later died at an area hospital.

Another female victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, a person has been taken into custody as part of the investigation.

During the investigation, Southwest Clay Street is closed between Southwest 12th Avenue and Southwest 13th Avenue. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
