UPDATE: Centennial Neighborhood Homicide Victim Identified, Second Person's Cause of Death Undetermined (Photo)

One of the deceased is identified as Harry O. Latour, Jr, 34. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.

The Medical Examiner determined that he died of homicide by gunshot.

The second man who died is not being identified at this time. The Medical Examiner determined that he was shot, but died of something other than homicidal violence. The cause of death is undetermined pending toxicology test results.

This case remains under investigation. Two men are deceased after a shooting incident in the Centennial Neighborhood.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 3:14a.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 16600 block of Southeast Naegeli Drive. Officers located an adult male deceased at the scene. A short time later, officers found another deceased adult male in the 17100 block of Southeast Naegeli Drive.

The suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived and no arrests have been made.

The Portland Police Bureau Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating. During the investigation, Southeast Naegeli Drive is closed between Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast 174th Avenue.
