Fatal Crash On Southeast Powell Boulevard Monday Night

On July 5, 2021 at about 9:25 p.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct were dispatched to a collision near Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast 143rd Avenue. A passenger in one of the cars died.

The investigation revealed a car travelling east on Southeast Powell Boulevard crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a car travelling west. The drivers of both cars were transported by ambulance to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the westbound car was also transported by ambulance, but did not survive.

The Portland Police Bureau Major Crash Team responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

This was the 32nd traffic fatality in Portland in 2021.
