The MCT has completed its on-scene work, but the investigation continues. Traffic Investigators determined that the automobile driver, a 25-year-old male driving a 2003 Toyota Camry, was eastbound on Southeast Division Street. The bicyclist, a 47-year-old female, was riding southbound on Southeast 92nd Avenue crossing Southeast Division Street when she was struck.
It appears the bicyclist may have disregarded traffic signals at the intersection. Weather-related visibility is also being considered as a factor. The investigation is continuing.
The bicyclist remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
This is the 73rd activation of the Major Crash Team in 2022.
