The 7-year-old boy who was missing in the Sabin/Irvington Neighborhood is safe with officers now and headed back home. Shortly after PPB put out the message on Twitter (@portlandpolice), alert neighbors near Northeast 14th Avenue and Northeast Failing Street who had seen the tweet saw Messiah Daniels playing with a cat in their neighborhood. They called PPB, and officers located Messiah safe and sound. He's being returned home to family. Thanks to everyone who kept an eye out!

###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW###

A 7-year-old boy is missing from the Sabin/Irvington Neighborhood and officers are asking for help finding him to bring him home.

On Friday, July 9, 2021 at about 5:30p.m., Messiah Daniels was seen leaving his home in the 3200 block of Northeast 16th Avenue and has not been seen since. North Precinct officers got the call he was missing and are currently looking for him. But he has still not been located and PPB is asking for help from the public.

Messiah has a history of running away, but his extremely young age and small size raises concerns for his welfare. Messiah is an African American boy, 4' tall, 50 pounds, wearing gray shirt with burgundy sleeves, blue jeans, and blue and white shoes. He was riding a skateboard. He has been known to run to the area of Delta Park and the Taco Bell located at 7415 Northeast Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. Messiah is familiar with Tri-Met and the Boys and Girls Club. He knows his name, phone number, and home address.

If anyone sees him or knows where he is now, please call 911. If anyone has non-time sensitive information about Messiah, please e-mail the Missing Persons Unit at missing@portlandoregon.gov.
