Avid Brickman has been found safe in Yreka, California. A big Thank You to all of our community members and the members of Northern California Law Enforcement agencies who helped in the search.

Avid Brickman's truck was found abandoned off I-5 in California.

At 8:00am this morning, a clerk several gas stations past where the truck was found abandoned identified Brickman as getting out of a different vehicle, before he went inside the gas station. Brickman told the clerk he was lost, and the gas station attendant advised the driver of the vehicle Brickman exited to take him to the nearest city, Yreka.

Avid Brickman is still missing.

The Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 83-year-old.

Gerald Allen Brickman, who goes by “Avid” Brickman, left his home on December 21, 2021, at 6:50pm, to shop at the Fred Meyers located at 7655 SW Barbur Boulevard, and has not returned to his house. Mr. Brickman left his cellphone at home. Avid is not diagnosed with dementia, however he has become “lost” several times in the past few months, making it as far as Hillsboro and East Portland. On these occasions he was able to use his cellphone to find his way back home.

Avid Brickman is described as a white male, weighing 140lbs, and is 5’6” tall. His hair is longer than what is depicted in the provided picture. Mr. Brickman is driving a Gray (primer gray) 1983 Toyota Pickup with wooden side-panels with Oregon license plate number 351FBD.
