** Detective Coffey is no longer available to assist. Anyone with information should call the non-emergency number **
The Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has failed to return to his care facility.
David Pond, 62, left his care facility, located at 7759 Southeast 72nd Avenue, at 1:00pm yesterday on a pass and was expected back in one hour. He has not returned. The care facility believes Mr. Pond may be in danger because he was unfamiliar with TriMet’s altered holiday schedule, and because of current weather conditions.
David Pond has not been diagnosed with memory issues. However, he is known pose in various standing positions for extended periods of time. Mr. Pond is 5’7” tall, but walks with an extreme hunch, so his visible height appears to be closer to 5’. He weighs approximately 150lbs and was last seen wearing a long navy-blue pea coat and blue jeans. David Pond has mostly balding white hair and a full beard.
If any community members locate David Pond, they are asked to facilitate his return to the care facility (7759 Southeast 72nd Avenue) or to contact Detective Kristina Coffey at (503)823-1081 kristina.coffey@portlandoregon.gov.
