UPDATE: Woman Killed in Hazelwood Neighborhood Shooting Identified (Photo)

The woman killed in a shooting in the Hazelwood Neighborhood on May 23 has been identified as Laquonda Fuller-Hudson, 31, of Portland. Her family provided the attached photo for public release.

The Medical Examiner determined Fuller-Hudson died of homicide by gunshot wound.

The suspect in this case is in police custody at a local hospital. He is being treated for injuries sustained during an incident that occurred after the homicide, but prior to the suspect's contact with law enforcement. That incident is still under investigation.

A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting in the Hazelwood Neighborhood has led to the death of a woman.

On Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 10:04 p.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Southeast 146th Avenue. When they arrived, they found an adult female deceased inside of an apartment. The suspect or suspects left the scene before police were called and no immediate arrests were made.

The investigation is underway. Portland Police Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene. During the investigation, Southeast 146th Avenue is closed between East Burnside Street and Southeast Stark Street.
