Preliminary investigation into this incident indicates that the deceased intentionally jumped from the building.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

On Friday February 9, 2018, at 2:18 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 1700 block of Southwest 4th Avenue on the report that a person fell from the roof of a multi-story building.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a female suffering from traumatic injuries. Efforts to save her life were not successful and she died at the scene.
Officers are speaking with witnesses and conducting an investigation to determine if the deceased fell or jumped from the building.
Southwest 4th Avenue between Mill and Montgomery Streets will be closed until the completion of the investigation.
