Portland Police Investigate Attacks in NW Portland

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Sex Crimes Unit are investigating several incidents that have occurred in Northwest Portland. Over the last several weeks, women walking in the areas of Northwest Couch Street to Northwest Marshall Street, and Northwest 10th Avenue to Northwest 23rd Avenue have been attacked by a male suspect. This suspect has forced female victims to the ground and attempts to sexually assault them. In each incident, the male suspect has ran away after the woman screams and draws attention to the attack. These attacks have occurred between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. The suspect is described as either being a Caucasian man with dark skin or possibly Hispanic. He is in his late twenties or early thirties, is approximately 5'9" tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has dark short hair and dark eyes.
