Stabbing Investigation Underway Near NW Broadway -- One Person Injured

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 12:01 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing near Northwest Broadway and Northwest Irving Street.

Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived and contacted an adult male who appeared to have been assaulted by a person with a knife. Medical personnel transported the victim by ambulance to a Portland area hospital for treatment of what was believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Based on preliminary information, investigators believe a disturbance began near the Bud Clark Commons, located at 655 Northwest Hoyt Street, prior to the victim being injured.

Officers searched the area, but have not located a suspect at this time. Based on information learned in the investigation, there is not believed to be an immediate danger to the community in relation to this incident. There is no suspect description to share with the public at this time in the investigation.

Criminalists with the Portland Police Bureau's Forensic Evidence Division are responding to assist with this investigation.
