UPDATE: Suspect Identified in Saturday Evening Double Stabbing Investigation (Photo)

The suspect arrested in connection with a stabbing that injured two people on Saturday, September 8, 2018, in the 6600 block of Northeast Grand Avenue has been identified as 34-year-old Ashley Ray Rogers.

Rogers was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on two counts of Assault in the Second Degree.



On Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 8:15 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence in the 6600 block of Northeast Grand Avenue.

Officers arrived at the residence and located two people suffering from multiple stab wounds and an adult male believed to be the suspect in this stabbing investigation. The injured adult male and female were provided first aid by officers until emergency medical personnel arrived. Both of the injured were transported by ambulances to an area hospital for treatment of what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, an adult male, was taken into custody without incident and a knife, believed to have been used in this incident, was located by officers and seized as evidence.

Based on preliminary information gathered in the investigation, officers believe the people involved in this incident were resident in the apartment where the stabbing occurred. At this time officers do not believe this incident posed a danger to the public.

Members with the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Assault Detail are responding to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division are also responding to assist in the investigation.

The identity of the person involved in this incident will not be provide until which time he is lodged at the Multnomah County Jail.

This investigation is in its early stages and there is no additional information to provide at this time.
