Shooting Investigation Sunday Morning in Portland's Parkrose Neighborhood - One Person Injured

On Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 6:07 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to a motel room at the Budget Inn, located at 11417 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, on the report a person had been shot.

After officers arrived at the Budget Inn they searched the area but did not locate anyone injured by gunfire.

As officers continued to investigate the reported shooting, staff at a Portland hospital notified the Bureau of Emergency Communications that an adult male had arrived at the hospital's emergency department with a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the hospital and determined the injured man had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle from the Budget Inn. The man's injury was believed to be non-life-threatening.

Officers continue to investigate this shooting. Based on information learned at this time in the investigation there is not believed to be a danger to the community in relation to this shooting.

There is no additional information to provide at this time.

Criminalists with the Portland Police Bureau's Forensic Evidence Division responded to assist with the investigation.

This investigation will be forwarded to the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Assault Detail.
