On Monday, September 10, 2018, at 7:51 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Bill's Steak House and Lounge, located at 10227 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, on the report of a man trying to slash vehicle tires with a knife.

When officers arrived at the scene they contacted several people that were in the area at the time of the incident. The officers learned the suspect had left the location prior to their arrival. A police canine team responded to the scene and officers searched the neighborhood for the suspect. The suspect was not located during the search.

Based on information learned at this time, officers believe the suspect was not allowed to enter Bill's Steak House at which time he displayed a six inch long knife and attempted to slash several vehicle tires. While the suspect slashed at the vehicles' tires, he approached a black male and, while brandishing the knife, made racial slurs directed at the man.

There were no reported injuries during this incident.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 50's, with grey or greying hair, greying facial hair, 5'7" tall, 160 pounds, with bad teeth and in possession of a six inch long knife.
