Pedestrian Robbed and Assaulted Overnight in Portland's Elliot Neighborhood - One Person Injured

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at 12:34 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Northeast Schuyler Street on the report that a pedestrian had been assaulted during a robbery.

Officers arrived and located a man with an injury and provided emergency first aid until emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, provided the man medical aid and transported him to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment of what was believed to be a serious but non-life threatening injury.

Based on preliminary information, officers believe two suspects arrived in the area on bicycle and approached the victim. They demanded the victim provide them money and at some point during the robbery, struck the victim with an object believed to have been a hammer or hatchet. The suspects left the area on biclycles.

A neighborhood search was conducted, but there were no people located that matched the suspects' descriptions.

One of the suspects was described as a white male, in his early 30's, with a skinny build, riding a bicycle. The other suspect was described as a white male, in his early 30's, with a skinny build, armed with an object believed to be hatchet or hammer and also riding a bike.
