Disturbance with Knife Leads to Non-Life Threatening Injury in Downtown Portland

On Sunday, February 3rd, 2019, at 7:40 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 500 block of Southwest Mill Street on the report of a subject who had been stabbed.

When officers arrived they located an injured adult male. The victim appeared to have been injured by a knife and was provided emergency medical aid by responding emergency medical personnel. The injured man was transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Based on preliminary information, investigators believe there was a disturbance on the street car between two male adults. During the disturbance, one of the involved subjects pulled a knife. One of the subjects involved ended up being injured by the knife. Officers are in contact with all of the involved parties at this time and are investigating the circumstances. Based on information gathered during the investigation, officers do not believe there is a danger posed to the public in relation to this assault.
