UPDATE: Victim from Shooting in Lents Neighborhood Dies at Hospital (Photo)

The victim of the shooting near the 8400 block of Southeast Foster Road died at an area hospital yesterday afternoon. The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy and determined the death was a result of a gunshot wound.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 10:09 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 8400 block of Southeast Foster Road on the report of a subject who had been shot.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male with what appeared to be a gunshot injury. He was provided emergency medical care at the scene, then was transported to an area hospital. His condition is considered life threatening.

As officers continued their investigation, they canvassed the area and located evidence of gunfire. Members with the Tactical Operation Division's Gun Violence Reduction Team and criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division are responding to assist. Major thoroughfares remain open, but some side streets in the area are closed for the investigation.

This investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information to provide at this time. Anyone who witnessed this shooting or who possesses video surveillance footage of the shooting is asked to contact the Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333.
