Gang Enforcement Team Detectives have identified this morning's shooting victim as 23-year-old Xabian Robert Riley of Northeast Portland. Riley remains in an area hospital in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his right leg.

Detectives have made no arrests in the shooting and would like to hear from anyone with information about this case, which is believed to be gang-related.

Early this morning, Sunday August 7, 2011, at 2:42 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of a disturbance with shots fired at Northwest 4th and Davis. Moments later additional shots were fired at Northwest 5th and Everett. Officers in the area located a gunshot victim at Northwest 3rd and Davis.

The victim, a 23-year-old male, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his right leg and was transported to an area hospital. It appears he was shot at Northwest 4th and Davis then ran to 3rd and Davis where he was found by police.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and black pants, last seen running westbound on Northwest Davis from 4th.

A neighborhood crime scene has been established from Northwest 3rd to Northwest 6th, Davis to Everett as officers begin to process evidence.

Gang Enforcement Team Detectives are enroute and will be the lead investigators as it appears the shooting is gang-related.

No suspects are in custody and no additional information is available at this time.
