PPB Identifies Armed Subject Arrested After Standoff in Local Business (Photo)

On Tuesday, June 26, 2019,at 2:22 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a call of a distressed subject in the bathroom of the Pets on Broadway at 2762 NE Broadway. Officers had an earlier call in the area of a subject who was seen with a firearm acting suspiciously. The officers had not been able to locate him on the earlier call.

Officers arrived and established this was likely the same person. They were able to get the business employees and occupants out safely. On duty SERT members were requested to the scene to assist.

Officers were able to engage the male in conversation, then make an arrest. A firearm was located, along with a magazine with live rounds. The weapon was seized. No one was injured during this incident.

The male was provided treatment at an area hospital, then was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center. He was charged with a Parole Violation warrant and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The male was identified as David M. Jordan, a 28 year-old.

This incident does not appear to be directly connected to the businesses involved and there is not an on-going risk to the public.
