Restaurant Manager Stabbed, Suspect Arrested (Photo)

On Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 3:58 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at a restaurant in the 9100 Block of Southeast Powell Boulevard. When they arrived they located a victim with a serious, but non life-threatening wound to an arm. The officer applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding and the victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

A description of the suspect was broadcast to other officers. A short time later, officers located the suspect nearby and arrested him. Assault detectives responded to assist with the investigation. They determined the suspect used a knife to cut the restaurant manager after the manager told the suspect to leave the business.

Freddie Hernandez-Garcia, 39, of Portland (photo), was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. A knife was seized as evidence.
