PPB has lifted the shelter-in-place warning for residents of a one block area of the Rose City Park Neighborhood. Two suspects have been arrested.

Officers learned that the original caller stated that he was on I-205 southbound near Northeast Airport Way and was being followed by the suspect vehicle. The vehicles exited the freeway and officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle. After the suspect driver eluded officers, the car did not crash, but the suspects jumped out of the car and it rolled into a curb in the 3100 block of Northeast 51st Avenue.

Officers from East County SWAT and Southwest Washington Regional SWAT responded to assist as PPB Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) was in training.

During the search, officers located one suspect on the roof of an outbuilding. They found another inside an unoccupied residence. No one was injured.

Additional information about the original call involving the gun is not being released at this time as the investigation into that incident is still ongoing.

Suspect names and charges will be released after they are booked into jail.

North Precinct officers have issued a shelter-in-place warning message for a one-block area in the Rose City Park Neighborhood as they search for suspected armed suspects who ran from officers. The perimeter is Northeast 51st Avenue to Northeast 52nd Avenue and Northeast Klickitat Street and Northeast Siskiyou Street.

The incident started about 6:41p.m. when a victim, who was driving, called in saying that another vehicle was following him after flashing a gun. Officers located the suspect vehicle and tried to stop it, but the suspect sped away from officers. A short time later, the suspect's vehicle crashed and multiple suspects ran. Officers have surrounded the area and are issuing commands over public-address systems for the suspect to surrender.

More information will be released when appropriate.
