On March 9, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., Central Precinct Officers responded to a call of a suspicious male lingering around the road near Robert Gray Middle school.

The caller observed the male walking down a path and noticed he was followed by three young girls. A few moments later the male came running back, got into a vehicle and left. The caller was able to take a photograph of the vehicle, a light blue Toyota Highlander (PHOTO).

During the investigation, the officer learned the male had been waiting in the bushes, on his knees, with his genitals exposed. When the girls passed by, he asked them about taking a picture with his phone. As the young girls screamed he took off on foot.

The girls were identified as two-thirteen year-olds and a twelve year-old. They were contacted by police and were determined to be safe.

Officers from the Central Precinct Neighborhood Response Team continued the investigation and developed a suspect, 20 year-old Hassan Abdullahi.

Abdullahi was arrested on March 26, 2020 and was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one charge of Public Indecency. (PHOTO)
