Update: Adult Suspect Arrested for Assault during May 30, 2020 Demonstrations (Photo)

On June 7, 2020 the Portland Police Detective Division made a second arrest related to an assault during the demonstration in Downtown Portland on Saturday May 30, 2020. 18-year-old Deleon, Emilio Antonio was charged with Assault (second degree) and booked into the Multnomah County Sheriffs Office.

On Saturday, May 30, 2020, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a male victim was seriously assaulted in the 1000 block of SW 4th Avenue near an active demonstration. The victim briefly lost consciousness and the suspect left the scene.

Video of the assault surfaced on social media showing a male suspect aggressively kicking the victim in the head after he had been punched by another subject and knocked to the ground. Thanks to the public's help, the suspect who was kicking the victim in the head was identified and Detectives were notified.

On June 4, 2020, at 1:20 p.m., Assault Detectives detained the 14-year-old male who was identified as the suspect who kicked the victim in the head. The 14-year-old suspect was taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center for the offense of Assault II. The investigation continues.

Various media platforms have falsely rumored the victim has passed away. The male victim sustained serious injuries but is not deceased.
