Portland Police make arrest in June 26, 2020 shooting

On June 26th, 2020 at about 2:00 a.m., two individuals were injured when multiple gunshots were fired at two victims in a drive by shooting in the area of Southeast Powell Blvd and Southeast 128th Ave. An earlier release named a different cross street.

The victims were struck multiple times and sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The associated vehicle and suspects fled the area prior to the arrival of police.

This case was assigned to Gun Violence Reduction Team detectives who were subsequently reassigned to the assault detail. An extensive investigation determined that 21 year old Brandon Anthony Hansen was the suspected shooter in this incident. An arrest warrant for Mr. Hansen and a search warrant for a related residence and vehicles was presented and signed by a Multnomah County judge in connection to this case.

On August 12, 2020 at about 5:00 a.m., detectives and officers assigned to the Portland Police assault detail, assisted by members of the Special Emergency Reaction Team, Crisis Negotiation Team and K9 unit, served a search warrant in the 12000 Block of Northeast Holladay Street. Mr. Hansen was safely apprehended and a search warrant was executed. Multiple firearms and other related evidence was recovered from the scene.

Mr. Hansen was booked on multiple charges in connection to this incident to include: Attempted Murder II, Assault II, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of a firearm. Mr. Hansen also had several unrelated outstanding warrants for his arrest.

On June 26, 2020, at 2:02 a.m., East Precinct Officers responded to the area near Southeast 126th Avenue and Powell Boulevard on multiple reports of numerous shots heard. One caller reported an injured person nearby.

Officers arrived and found an injured adult male. He was transported to an area hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injury.

Another victim arrived at a hospital with injuries believed to be sustained during this incident. The adult female victim had serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

This was the third shooting investigated in six hours overnight while PPB was also managing multiple demonstrations and an attack on North Precinct. One shooting occurred in each of PPB's three precincts (See prior releases for information on other incidents).
