Assault with a weapon in old town, One Individual seriously injured

On August 6, 2020, at approximately 3:46 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 500 block of Northwest Broadway on reports of someone who was seriously injured by a suspect with a box cutter. When officers arrived they found an adult male who had been slashed in the neck. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance. The victim's medical status is unknown at this time.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived and is still outstanding.

Officers have secured the crime scene and detectives are assisting in the investigation.

The PIO is not responding to the scene.

If anyone has information about the stabbing and has not been contacted by investigators, they are asked to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.

An update will be provided if appropriate for the investigation.
