UPDATE: Arrest Made In North Portland Burglary Call, Additional Information Sought

Burglary detectives have arrested a person involved in the burglary and are requesting that anyone with additional information about what took place to contact them through CrimeStoppers.

Brooklyn S. Collins, 27, of Portland, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Burglary in the First Degree and Interfering with a Police Officer.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives believe other suspects are still outstanding, and that at least one gunshot was fired during the incident. Officers are investigating a possible gunfight between moving vehicles and are looking for any witnesses.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 7:41a.m., North Precinct officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 8400 block of North Seward Ave. As they were responding, updated information suggested a suspect vehicle had fled the scene, another vehicle was following the suspect, and that shots had been fired.

At 8:13a.m., Central Precinct officers responded a call that two vehicles involved in shots fired had stopped in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Northwest Glisan Street. Officers arrived and located them and have detained at least two people. No injuries have been reported.

Officers and detectives are investigating and believe the two calls are related. If there are any witnesses who saw occupants of vehicles shooting at each other, or if anyone has video from in-car cameras or surveillance cameras, or if anyone is aware of any evidence such as shell casings (please do not touch or move evidence), please contact the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
