Victim Shot While Stopped at Traffic Light

A man suffered an injury to his hand after being shot while stopped at a traffic light in the Lents Neighborhood.

On Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 10:47p.m., East Precinct responded to a call of a shooting near Southeast 82nd Avenue and Southeast Foster Road. Officers arrived and located an adult male victim shot in the hand. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The victim said that he saw a group of suspects attempting to break into vehicles nearby and exchanged words with them. The suspects got into multiple vehicles and followed him a short distance on Southeast Foster Road until he stopped at a red light at Southeast 82nd Avenue. Someone from a suspect vehicle fired multiple shots into the victim's vehicle. The suspects drove off. No suspect description is being released at this time. The investigation is continuing.
