UPDATE: Possible Explosive Device Downtown Found To Be Not Harmful (Photo)

The device (photo) was evaluated by the Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) and found to be inert and not a danger to the public. EDU is investigating its origin.

On September 28 at 8:37 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 1100 block of Southwest Harvey Milk St on a call of an explosive device. Members of the Explosive Disposal Unit are responding to the scene.

Southwest Harvey Milk St is closed between 10 and 12. Southwest 11 Ave is also closed between Burnside and Washington.

Anyone with information about this incident should call non-emergency dispatch at 503-823-3333.
