Update: Homicide Victim Identified (Photo)

The victim from Thursday morning's homicide has been identified as 38-year-old Michael Epps Junior. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined the cause of Epps' death was from a gunshot wound and the manner of Epps' death a homicide. The Portland Police Bureau will not be releasing additional information about this case at this time.

Mr. Epps' family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photo.

On October 1, 2020 at about 5:31 a.m., Portland Police responded to the report of a shooting near Northeast 111th Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard. After arrival it was determined that a person at the scene was deceased.

Cause and manner of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner at a later time and date. Additional information will be released at the direction of the investigators.
