On October 30, 2020, at approximately 12:52 a.m., a North Precinct officer on patrol near Luuwit View Park in the 12700 block of Northeast Fremont Street heard nearly 30 gunshots. Additional officers responded to the area to assist the officer in searching for victims of a shooting and/or evidence of gunfire, however, they were unable to locate either.
Around 1:18 a.m., officers were called to an area hospital on reports of a walk-in gunshot wound victim. Officers arrived on scene and learned the victim was shot near Luuwit View Park. The victim would not elaborate further on the incident, nor would they give officers a suspect description. The victim suffered from a minor injury and is expected to make a full recovery.
The PIO is not responding to the scene.
If anyone has information about the shooting and has not been contacted by investigators, they are asked to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
An update will be provided if appropriate for the investigation.
