Officer Locates Stolen Vehicle in Buckman Neighborhood; Occupant Arrested, Firearm and Substantial Amount of Heroin Seized (Photo)

On December 4, 2020, at approximately 10:37 a.m., an officer assigned to Central Precinct patrol observed a stolen vehicle parked and occupied in the 300 block of Southeast Ash Street. The officer requested additional resources respond to the location to help contact the occupant of the vehicle. Once additional officers arrived on scene, the occupant was contacted and safely taken into custody.

As officers continued their investigation, an inventory was conducted on the stolen vehicle. 548.9 grams of heroin, 7 grams of methamphetamine, 1 semi-automatic handgun, 2 pellet guns, and $3,665 were seized from inside the vehicle.

63-year-old Dale Alan Barton was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
