Update: Victim of Powellhurst-Gilbert Shooting Identified

The victim in this shooting has been identified as 16 year old Abdushukri Uren. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined Uren died from a gunshot wound and ruled it a homicide.

This incident took place on Southeast 136th Avenue from Southeast Division to Southeast Center. This distance is almost a mile long and investigators are seeking information from witnesses who may have been in the area or anyone who may have video along this road.

This is the 49th homicide of 2020 and 36th homicide of 2020 involving a firearm.

On December 14, 2020, at about 2:32 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Southeast 136th Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

Officers found that one person appeared to have been shot and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

At this time, there is no information on the condition of the victim.

This incident appears to have taken place over several blocks. Police have closed streets in the area of Southeast 136th Ave from Holgate to Powell, and Southeast 136th Ave from Powell to Division to aid in the investigation. Expect traffic delays.
