Portland Police arrest man on 29 count indictment related to sex abuse charges

On January 4, 2021, Portland Police arrested 60-year-old Brian David Trostel when he turned himself in following a twenty nine count grand jury indictment. This indictment was the result of an investigation conducted by the Portland Police Bureau Family Services Division and in conjunction with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office. Police booked Mr. Trostel into the Multnomah County jail.

The charges include: two counts of Using a Child in a Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, eight counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, eight counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, eight counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy in the First Degree and three counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy in the Second Degree.

These crimes are alleged to have been committed in the City of Portland. Based on the information gathered in the investigation, police believe they have already identified any victim related to these charges and do not believe there are additional victims.
