UPDATE #2: Follow-up Investigation Into Shooting Leads to Recovery of Gun

Detectives doing follow-up investigation have located a gun believed to be involved in this morning's shooting (photo). It was recovered this afternoon near where Parker was taken into custody at Northeast 33rd Drive and Northeast Argyle Street. It has been seized as evidence.

The man shot during this morning's gunfire incident has been arrested and charged with gun crimes.

After he was treated and released from the hospital, assault detectives booked Armondo R. Parker, 37, of Portland, into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Detectives are still looking for the other vehicle involved in the shooting, and the suspect or suspects involved. If anyone has information, please see the contact information listed in the previous release. Please include case number 21-19784 in any tips.

A man is recovering after gunshots are fired in a restaurant parking lot.

On Friday, January 22, 2021 at 4:40a.m., a sergeant was in the area of the 8000 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard when he saw what appeared to be occupants of two vehicles shooting at each other in a restaurant parking lot. The sergeant requested additional resources and began following one of the involved vehicles. When it stopped near Northeast 33rd Drive and Northeast Argyle Street, officers discovered that the driver was injured. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not life threatening.

Traffic was not impacted but the parking lot was closed off as a crime scene. Assault detectives are investigating. If anyone has information about this shooting, please e-mail crimetips@portlandoregon.gov or call 503-823-0400.
