The circumstances surrounding Gomez's death are still under investigation, however all parties involved in the incident have been identified and interviewed. PPB Homicide Detectives or the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office will release more information when it is appropriate.

Gomez's family is not granting media interviews at this time.

The victim in the homicide in the 9500 block of North Buchanan Avenue has been identified as Christina Gomez, 24. Gomez's family has been notified and provided the attached photo for distribution to the media.

The Medical Examiner determined Gomez died of a gunshot wound and ruled her death a homicide.

The circumstances surrounding Gomez's death are still under investigation.

A shooting call in the St. Johns Neighborhood has become a homicide investigation after a woman was found deceased.

On Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 4:38a.m., North Precinct officers were called to a report of shots fired in the 9500 block of North Buchanan Avenue. Officers arrived and found an adult female with a possible gunshot wound. Paramedics confirmed the woman was deceased.

Detectives from the Portland Police Homicide detail responded and are investigating. No suspect information is being released.
