Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Under Investigation - Victim identified

The pedestrian victim in this fatal hit and run has been identified as 60-year-old Karen McClure, of Portland.

The suspect and suspect vehicle in this case are still outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing.

A fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in the Hazelwood Neighborhood is under investigation.

On Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 6:52p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a person struck by a car near Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 136th Avenue. When officers arrived, they located a pedestrian who was deceased. The vehicle involved was no longer at the scene. No suspect description is available.

The Portland Police Major Crash Team is enroute to conduct an investigation. If anyone has information about this incident, they're asked to call police non-emergency at 503-823-3333 or, if it's time sensitive information about the location of the suspect, call 911. The case number is 21-34282.

During the investigation, Southeast Stark Street is closed between Southeast 136th Avenue and Southeast 139th Avenue.

The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate to the investigation.
