Update: Fatal crash on North Columbia Boulevard

On February 8, 2021, at about 12:59 p.m., Portland Police responded to a single vehicle crash near the 5000 block of North Columbia Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and has been identified as 35-year-old Kenna Danielle Butchek, of Portland.

This crash is remains under investigation. Investigators have not yet shared the name of the deceased for release.

This is the 9th fatal crash in Portland in 2021. An earlier release indicated an incorrect number in the series of events.

Investigators on the scene of the crash on North Columbia Boulevard report that this is a fatal crash. One vehicle with one occupant, the driver, crashed into a tree.

All lanes of North Columbia Boulevard in the area of North Portsmouth Avenue and North Fiske Avenue are closed for the time being.
