UPDATE: Identity of Homicide Victim in Piedmont Neighborhood Park

The medical examiner has confirmed the identity of the victim in the homicide at Farragut Park Thursday. He is identified as Curtis D. Smith, 25. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.

The medical examiner determined that he died of homicide by gunshot wounds.

A victim was shot and killed in Farragut Park in the Piedmont Neighborhood.

On Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 10:43p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in Farragut Park, 7736 North Kerby Avenue. When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded but the victim was deceased on scene.

No suspect information is available and no arrests have been made.
