Serious Injury Crash involving Pedestrian Downtown, Major Crash Team Investigating

A pedestrian is in the hospital with serious, life threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Downtown Portland.

On Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 4:15p.m., Central Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a crash at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Pine Street. Portland Fire and Rescue and American Medical Response paramedics responded and the pedestrian was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the involved car remained at the scene.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is responding to investigate. Southwest 3rd Avenue is closed between Southwest Pine Street to Southwest Oak Street.
