UPDATE #2: Victim Identified in Old Town Homicide

The victim is identified as Edward T. Grant, 41, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photo for public distribution.

The Medical Examiner determined manner and cause of death to be homicide by blunt force trauma.

Homicide Detectives booked Anthony M. Millner, Jr., 30, of Portland, into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree.

The victim?s name, and cause and manner of death will be released after an autopsy has verified his identity and next-of-kin has been notified.

A death investigation in the Old Town Neighborhood is being investigated as a homicide.

On Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1:15p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a death investigation call at an apartment in the 0 block of Northwest 2nd Avenue. When they arrived they located a deceased adult male. Their preliminary investigation suggesting that the death was a homicide and one person has been detained. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.

Homicide investigators responded and are investigating. The investigation is having an impact on the west side of the building. Northwest 3rd Avenue is closed between West Burnside Street and Northwest Couch Street.
