UPDATE: Victim Identified in Parkrose Homicide

The victim of Wednesday?s shooting in the Parkrose Neighborhood is identified as Jalon M. Yoakum, 33, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photographs for public distribution.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner has determined the cause and manner of death is homicide by gunshots.

A victim is deceased after a shooting in the Parkrose neighborhood.

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 5:27p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 11800 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When they arrived they located an adult male victim, who was deceased.

Homicide Detectives are responding. During the investigation, Northeast Sandy Boulevard is closed between Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast 112th Avenue. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
