Homicide Victim From Yesterday Identified

The victim in the shooting that occurred on May 16, 2021, in the 8000 block of North Newman Avenue is 29-year-old Alexandra R. Arb-Bloodgood.

The suspect in this case, 25-year-old Shane Finnell, is her brother-in-law.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined Arb-Bloodgood died from a gunshot wound and ruled her death a homicide.

There have been 32 homicides in Portland this year.

Officers from the North Precinct arrested the suspect in today?s homicide at the scene in the Portsmouth Neighborhood.

The suspect, 25 year-old Shane Michael Finnell, was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Information regarding the victim will be released after the Oregon State Medical Examiner determines the cause and manner of death.

A victim is deceased after a shooting in the Portsmouth neighborhood.

On Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 8:34 a.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to a report of a shooting in the 8000 block of North Newman Avenue. When officers arrived they located an adult female victim, who was deceased.

Homicide Detectives are responding. During the investigation, North Newman Avenue is closed between North Kilpatrick Street and Northeast Winchell Street. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
